You know here at Cruise Ship Interiors Expo HQ we can’t get enough of innovative materials and sustainability. That’s why we’re delighted to have a chance to talk to Pascal Marly from Cotting Group, whose experience and speciality makes them a sure hand with hospitality fabrics.
Hello there! Thank you for talking to us today. Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Pascal Marly and I am the Sales and Marketing Director of Cotting Group.
And tell us a little bit about Cotting Group?
Cotting Group is a European manufacturer of coated fabrics with 2 plants based in France and Belgium.
Main applications of our products are Automotive seats covering, upholstery for contract and nautical furniture, protection of medical mattresses and leather goods.
For all these applications Cotting can provide vinyl or PU coated fabrics.
You have a Nautical collection developed for the marine industry. What was your starting point/priorities when developing this collection?
We are a specialist in production of fire retardant coated fabrics for contract. We are well known in France and in Europe. For more than 70 years, we have a great expertise in this kind of production and completed many projects for hospitality, healthcare and retail areas.
We transferred this knowledge in hospitality to cruise ship equipment as it is based on the same skills. Moreover all our products comply with the IMO A 652 certification and MED 2014/90 wheel mark label which are required in the cruise ship industry.
Can you tell us about an interesting marine project you have recently worked on or completed?
We worked for several cruise lines, including MSC CRUISE Group, PONANT company and CROISI EUROPE. For instance our quality WINSTON , mat and velvet look, has been specified for chairs and benches on the MSC Seashore. This is one of our fabric among our wide range of 20 ranges and more than 375 colours.
You’ll be exhibiting at Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe. Is there any chance of us getting a sneak peek at what you’ll be bringing to the show?
We are developing a cross-disciplinary fabric for indoor with all required flame retardant properties but also for outdoor with a protection against salt environment.
