Dyson Technology lightcycle task light
Dyson Lightcycle™ task light

Ahead of exhibiting at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe, Dyson have sent over a preview of some of the products they’ll be bringing along – and their thinking behind the creation of these products. We’re pretty excited to have the opportunity to glimpse some of Dyson’s world-famous design and have learn more about their thoughts on how wellbeing and technology can intersect. Without any more ado, we hand you over to Dyson…

Dyson technology

Never before have we spent so much time indoors; working, studying, eating, exercising, sleeping and playing all behind closed doors and under artificial lighting. Our bodies evolved to react to the natural daylight cycle and breathe pollutant-free air. We can spend up to 90% of our time indoors where pollutants can be trapped inside and blue light can disrupt our natural sleep patterns, all of which can affect our wellbeing.

At Dyson, we understand the impact of these conditions on our wellbeing and productivity. We have created products that work to minimise the effects of poor air quality and artificial light; the Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan and the Dyson Lightcycle™ task light.

Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan

Dyson technology Pure Cool Me

When we talk about pollution, we often talk about outdoor pollution. But indoors, there is more to air than meets the eye. In addition to pollution entering our homes when we open the windows or doors, common everyday activities and workplace items can also make air dirty.

The Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan features Dyson’s air filtration and air projection technologies, making this compact machine a perfect fit for your personal space. The Dyson Core Flow™ technology creates a steady stream of purified air and allows you to direct the airflow precisely where you need it. Harnessing Dyson’s expertise in fluid dynamics, air filtration, and acoustic performance, the Dyson Pure Cool Me™ is engineered to support your wellbeing, delivering cleaner air and a more comfortable experience.

Dyson Lightcycle™ task light

Before artificial light, humans organised activities around the daylight cycle. Thanks to artificial lighting we can prolong the time we are productive to well after sunset. But the colour and intensity of our lighting can be important and some people chose to minimise blue light exposure closer to bedtime.

The Dyson Lightcycle™ task light uses a unique time, date and location algorithm to calculate the colour temperature and brightness of daylight, anywhere in the world. It adjusts its colour temperature and brightness in relation to your local daylight, providing the right light for the right time of day.
