Cruise Ship Interiors Europe promises to host the latest designs, most cutting-edge technology and agenda-setting conference sessions. We will be shining a spotlight over the coming weeks on some of our exhibitors’ exciting new products; giving you a sneak preview of what’s to come at Cruise Ship Interiors Europe, 4–5 December.

The Macaron collection, designed by arch. Laura Silvestrini and presented at Salone del Mobile 2019,  combines aesthetic and technological research, confirming PIAVAL’s know-how in solid wood processing.

Macaron features all the characteristics of a product developed for the contract sector: the solidity of the structure, the comfort of the backrest, the pleasure of being seated on a soft seat, a refined and contemporary aesthetic that determines the freedom of use in any environment.

The collection is versatile and can meet different needs. It includes three models: an elegant, yet comfortable armchair, a large and welcoming lounge version and a 2-seat sofa. Macaron is a perfectly calibrated two-volumes project. By joining together, they give life to its unique design. The first is the shell – padded and enveloping – supported at the base by a curved wooden profile that traces a sign that ends in the front legs.

The second is the seat, in the center of which the rear legs are inserted: its structure is a perfect circle on which a soft cushion rests, round itself. The precise overlapping of these two layers recalls the image of the French pastry that gives the name to the chair. Like all PIAVAL products, the structure of Macaron, available in beech wood or American walnut, can be customized in a wide range of finishes and the choice of upholstery ranges from fabric to leather.
