CSI Design Expo Europe (CSIE) has announced the launch of a new zone, ‘hospitality @CSI’.The new zone, hospitality@CSI, launching in 2024, will host leading hospitality brands that provide galley products & services, bedding & linen, housekeeping products & services, cabin amenities, and more. With all-new suppliers, tailored conference sessions, and bespoke networking, CSIE is now the place for cruise ship hospitality buyers and decision-makers to elevate their projects, delivering and exceeding the brief.
Hospitality and Interior Design
The synergetic relationship between hospitality and interior design continues to deepen, and interior design and hospitality professionals work in close collaboration to deliver newbuild and refurbishment projects with the wow factor. This year, top travel industry trends include wellness and guests seeking meaningful and authentic experiences. Sleep topped the Hilton’s 2024 traveller trends report, with guests eying suite features including mattress types, pillow menus and bedding quality as a factor in their stay. Travelers are opting to invest in holidays that will provide them with rest and the opportunity to recharge in addition to the usual considerations of location and itineraries, food and beverages, and entertainment.
Meanwhile, cruise ship dining is evolving at a pace with landside dining. Guests are now accustomed to a wide variety of food available to be delivered to their door at the press of a button. Cruise lines who want to ensure their guests enjoy the services that are a staple of their everyday lives have launched variations of the food delivery. For example, Carnival Cruise Line will deliver guests pizza, and other food, anywhere on the ship. Meanwhile the popularity of onboard food halls continues to grow at pace with the global passion for street food-like dining and small plates. Ship galleys must now evolve to meet the demands of these new ways of dining.
When will CSIE take place?
CSIE, featuring hospitality@CSI, will take place 4 – 5 December at ExCeL London. This year, there’s more to do at CSIE than ever before. The program of events is designed to benefit every member of the cruise interiors community, from trend leaders looking to return to their team with the latest innovations to product managers looking to update their company’s materials library to procurement specialists looking to source bespoke solutions to their team’s big design challenges.
The itinerary will include conferences, workshops, Meet The Brand Q&As, sector-specific lunches, and speed networking sessions tailored to everyone from big picture thinkers who are constantly honing their company’s strategic edge to the movers and shakers to whom networking is the lifeblood of the business.
As always, CSIE will end with a bang as the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards enter their fifth year. The awards celebrate the heights of cruise ship interior design, as voted by the industry itself. The design awards include suites, public spaces, casual dining, sustainable interiors and crew areas. The awards also put the spotlight on the products at the forefront of innovation and sustainable design, giving the attending buyers insight into the must-have materials and services that will become the basis of next-gen cruise ship interior design.
